Registration typically opens on March 1st of each year and closes in early May.
Registration for the season is $290 for Instructional & Freshman Levels and $325 for JV and Varsity. This includes most of the items needed (please check out our "cheer gear" page for more information). Varsity cheerleaders will have an opportunity to go to Cheer Camp. There is an additional cost for this, which varies each year, and is posted in advance. Our Organization does our best to reduce the cost of camp as well as keep registration costs low by various fundraising initiatives .
All paid cheerleaders will be loaned a uniform, which is returned at the end of the season. In addition they will receive a "practice pack" that may include t-shirts, shorts, hairbows, poms, and a few other miscellaneous items that they will get to keep!
Parents are responsible for providing shoes (two pairs- ONE FOR INDOOR, ONE FOR OUTDOOR), navy blue leggings, white no-show anklet socks, a bodysuit and under garments. Rain jacket and cold weather gear should also be purchased. The recommended shoe style and vendor information will be provided at a later time. Please refer to the "Cheer Gear" tab as well as ask your coach for more details.
Our season begins at the beginning of August and goes through the end of October. Practice dates and times are set by coaches.
During the month of August, teams can practice for a max total of 12 hours each week. The Instructional Cheerleaders practice no more then 6 hours.
Once school begins, practices average 6 weekly hours total for all teams (or less).
Games will be held on Saturdays, usually starting August, depending on the schedule set forth by the HAYAA football league. The game schedule for the 1st half of the season, with times and locations, does not come out until the end of August. The remaining schedule is released later in the season.
Practices and games are mandatory, and a signed Attendance Policy is required to participate in our program.
Yes! We participate in the LCACC end of season competition called Cheerfest. Cheerfest is held mid-to-late October with various LCACC schools hosting.
Uniform hand out dates will be sent out well in advance. Some items will be distributed at hand out. Items that needed to be ordered or were not ordered prior to the cut off, will be given out later. Depending on the season, hand out dates for the ordered items may vary, but we target the first week of practice for distribution. If your child was registered late, there may be a delay.
Every year, we have different numbers of teams in each level. Hayaa Football is no different; varying numbers of teams at each level. As such, we work with the football program to schedule cheerleaders for their games. It does not always match up, unfortunately. For example, Freshman Blue Cheer/Pom will not always be cheering for Freshman Blue Football. We do our best to balance the schedule so that our Football teams have our cheerleaders and families supporting them! The team "colors" do not play into that schedule.
